I think knee-high boots would actually elongate your legs instead of making it look shorter. I see a ton of girls your height rockin' them, so I say go for it! They're perfect for the season :)

If you are wearing them with long pants like the girl in the picture you can do it, but if you wear them with shorts or a skirt that doesn't reach over the boots you will look even shorter. I am 5'3" so I have to be careful as well.
