Essie I also a good brand if topcoat, if your nails are chipping I think it's mainly the quality and brand of your topcoat!

Always use a base coat. It's like a primer! Also make sure your nails are free of any oils so the polish sticks on better. Good top coat helps. I love seche vite.

My nails chip no matter what I do. But they chip less when I use a nail protein base coat and top coat. Then make sure you only use the pads of your fingers and not the tips of the nails. I do a lot of typing at work and when I use the nail tips to type, they crack and chip. Also don't do your nails right after you wash them. The nail itself is still soft and when it dries, it shrinks. Wait about 30 minutes after Washing your hands to paint your nails. Also remember that cuticle oil will make it not stick, as will lotion. Apply all that stuff after you paint.

Also make sure that you cap off the ends of your nails with clear topcoat as well.

Where can I find Seche Vite top coat? And is it expensive? My nails chip really fast too it's obnoxious!
