I want to cut my hair again, but don't know how. This is my hair at the moment.

I think you should go ahead and cut off that long piece. My real hair is cut into a pixie (has been for years) I had a long pierce at one point too but this year it cut it off and it made the style so much better in my opinion. You can still cut it an angle so can be a gradual look. Then a lot put a couple layers in it (makes it prettier when you curl it)

Also from the look of your picture your short side is square. Try making it come to a point. Square can make the cut look hard.
