You have beautiful brown eyes...so to start simple get neutrals that have a matte finish. This is the best way to give yourself a natural look but still accentuate your eyes. Once you learn the dynamics of how colors compliment each other you can then branch out into different colors and palettes. Jaclyn hill on YouTube does a lot of eye shadow tutorials with neutrals and warm browns which I love watching. Any line, drugstore or high end, will carry what they call a neutrals type palette which is good to start out and experiment with! Good luck :)

You have such pretty eyes! I have brown eyes too, so here's what I do. I take a purple eyeliner and just line the outer corner of my upper and lower lid. Then I just finish with a few coats of black mascara! Easy (:

Purples make brwn eyes pop! I'd try neutrals blending into plum purple for outer corner :)
