There's been a lot of questions about how often and how to properly exfoliate your face and people, as good as their intentions are, are giving some misleading advice. I'd like to clear the air and say a few things.
1. your skin will tell you if you're overdoing it. if your skins red and irritated chances are your your scrubbing too hard or exfoliating too often...maybe both. your skin should be soft and glowy.
2. alpha hydroxy acids count! if you use a product with this kind of acid, its an exfoliant even if there's no scrubbies.
3. notice I said nothing about how often? that's because everyone has different skin. the climate, hormones, hygene etc. all effect how often you should exfoliate...again your skin will tell you what's right.

*a good rule of thumb is to start out exfoliating 1 to 2 times a week and go from there. you may find you need to try a different product/method all together.

Thanks for this post Kenzie! I have been reading all sort of post about exfoliating and scrubs, and they all say once a week, but I use a daily face wash with scrub effect, and my skin have never been more glowing and soft, but I was starting to worry if I was over doing it!

Thanks for the post! I've seen so many people on here asking why their face is so red and irritated when they've only been exfoliating twice a day... yikes.
