Hello ladies. I was just wondering how much each artist charges their clients. I rage my prices from 20- 35 dollars. I'm thinking of raising my prices a little bit. Just wanted to know how much you ladies charge when you ask them to provide their own foundation concealer and powder. What do you think is appropriate?? Just wondering. Please feel free to be blunt.

I used to charge $20-35 for couple of clients! Now it's $45 non bridal and $65 bridal that is still very cheap and I get told I'm to expensive. Iff they ask me to use their own foundation I take off 5 bucks as I still use all my other supplies!

Thats actually pretty cheap. I'm from Brazil, and some people charge up to 300 dollars for a bridal makeup! It's insane.

I think it depends on where you live, but if you are having them provide their own products then you can't be too expensive bc the only service your providing them is application. Possibly 40. Establish a good clientele and research your competitors pricing.

Jacqueline H. I charge 20-35 based on my local community. I live in a surf town. Not much opportunity for makeup artists. But I'm very self motivated and promote myself as much as I can when I do get the chance. I been debating with myself because I feel like if I do raise my prices my clients will be a little disappointed. So I'm stuck cuz these clients I do have been by my side for 5 or 6 years. Their very loyal to me. But I think my skills have improved a lot over the years. Also a people give me a lot of good feedback seeing my work. So I think I do wanna raise my prices. Just wanna see what other artists are charging so I can range it out.

Jacqueline do you have some kind of service contract for when you do bridal work?

$150 for a bride isn't bad at all. that was my issue. I was getting a lot of brides and birthday girls/ special occasions.. but with product n travel time, gas, etc, if you break it down per hr you are aren't even making minimum wage sometimes. product is expensive.. n your time is valuable.
whatever price you choose, bottomline is it needs to be worth your time..
