I use cetaphil gentle skin cleanser and face lotion. For spot treatments I use clearasil ultra rapid action vanishing treatment cream. Once things start clearing up use neosporin to help heal scars and lighten dark spots.

Aveno Clear Conplexion Foaming Facial Wash and the matching moisturizer. They're a bit pricier but do wonders for my oily and sensitive skin!

My number one choice for you would be Murad...I've seen clients come back looking better. The only thing is that its not really for sensitive skin.

Thank you all so much for your responses! Nidah--Where can you purchase Murad. I've never tried that before. I also just got the Clinque Acne line so I'll try that first then try Murad!

I know a lot of people bash on proactiv but I personally have used it and my skin is clear now. The thing about any face regime or washed it needs time to get use to the product. So this may mean a few more breakouts and some dryness. Proactiv for me took about 4 months to get everything clean but in the first few weeks it helped my skin so much after I was breaking out horribly. Those who stick with proactiv love it. So if your willing to spend the money, try it but stuck with it and get a really good moisturizer . Remember things get worse before they get better, that's what my sister told me, and she graduated from a beauty school.

HEY BRIANA PLEASE CONSIDER THESE !!!!!!
Peter Thomas Roth skincare and Dermadoctor, DDF, ( Organic Brand)Juice Beauty and Murad!!
I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO SAY::::::
**That you are not shopping for the brand, you are shopping for Ingredients that work best for your skin.
YOU HAVE TO CONSIDER:::::::::::
1. Your Skin type, are you Dry, Combination, sensitive, Oily, or Normal??
2. Are you suffering from White heads, Black heads, cystic acne, post acne marks etc...??
3. What is your price point or budget??
Once you've answered those then your closer to clear skin freedom :))
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS THAT WORK:::::
1.Benzoyl Peroxide (active ingredient in pro active)
B.P is a drying agent so it is most useful on active breakouts and whiteheads.
If you have normal to dry skin be sure to follow up with a intensive/deep penetrating moisturizer.
If you have oily/ combination skin you also want to be to moisturize afterwards
2. Glycolic Acid AhA [active ingredient in peter thomas roth]
Glycolic acid is rooted from the word glucose meaning sugar.
it is commonly used as an exfoliant which is great for post acne scars and other skin texture changes resulting from acne.
**Dont forget to moisturize :))
3. Salicylic Acid BhA [peter thomas roth, ddf]
Salicylic Acid kills the bacteria that causes acne (p. acne)
great for acne prevention and active breakouts
moisturize
4.Sulfuric Acid /Sulfur [mario badescu,ddf]
Is another drying agent that works to draw out white heads from pimples most effective as
a spot treatment or mask
moisturize after
GOOD SKIN.GOOD LUCK. GOD BLESS

My dermatologist told me that the cleanser itself isn't as important as using it. Nothing is gonna work if you only use it sparingly. I had bad acne and my dermatologist recommended that I wash my face 3 times a day instead of 2. It worked wonders. As for the cleanser, any drugstore cleanser will do the trick if you use it regularly.

Right now I use the liquid neutrogena oil free acne wash (gold color) it works really well for my moderate acne! I am not completely clear but clear enough to be confident without makeup 😊
