Matte vs. powder shadows??

What is the difference in what to expect for matte shadows vs powder shadows. I've always used powder so I don't know what the matte does that's different and was thinking of trying it. Help?!

Matte is a eyeshadow with no shimmer/sparkles/etc.

I always thought matte was a creamy fluffy version. Like my blush is dream matte mouse

Nope, those are cream shadows. Matte shadows just have no sparkles or shimmer to them at all.

With the matte mouse the texture there is the mouse which is the creamy, fluffy consistency. The matte part is that it has no added shimmer or sparkle. Any product can be matte or shimmery really, such as eyeshadow, lipstick, foundation. Cream eyeshadows can also be shimmery or matte.
