So I was at the doctor for just a check up and I had mentioned that I was kinda breaking out on my forehead and on my t- zone and she prescribed me epiduo. I've only used it once. And I was wondering if anyone has tried it and liked it or tried it and hated it and why! Thank you!! <3.

I tried it! it didnt work for me, I had a huge whole area of just red... and during the day at around 2 oclock exactly my face would get beeeet red and would stay like that for like 4 hours... I hated it. But I think I was allergic to it or somthing I don't know.

I love it! I use it every night! My sister got like 20 small free samples from the doctor and she doesn't use them so I stole them ;-) when I don't use it I breakout!

I used it and it worked for awhile then it seemed to just stop. Now I use proactive which is the best for me so far!

I use it sometimes because it really dries out my face if I use it every day. But it works for me :)

In the beginning, it didn't work for me, but that was because I didn't change any products in my skincare routine. My cleanser was a foaming one that contained alcohol, and my toner contained salicylic acid. Once I switched to a simple, gentle cleanser (e.g. Cetaphil or SpectroJel), stopped using that toner at night, as well as moisturizing only the places that are not acne-prone and using only Epiduo on the places that are (if possible, no moisturizer on top!), I noticed that it actually started to work. Because the gel is also already very exfoliating, there is no need to do so (maybe once a week is fine, but still be extremely gentle). I was prescribed Differin before Epiduo, so I alternate each night between the two because I do find Epiduo really drying. I know it's obvious, but read the instructions (I clearly didn't)! There are ingredients that are listed that you should not be using with adapalene as doing so will only irritate the skin. Also, it takes a while to work - weeks, sometimes months (which was the case for me) - and you may purge in the beginning, but that is an indication that it is working. Try not to be discouraged and stick it out. Hope you have good results!
