Aw I love to see mothers on here. But I do think 7th grade is a bit young. When she becomes a teenager, then she can start experimenting. I started wearing clear mascara at 13 and I thought I was hot stuff lol Overall, she has her whole life to be bothering with that stuff. She should be a kid while she can

You could get her some of the lighter colours of the Clinique Chubby Sticks. :)
They have some really cute colours and go on kinda like lip balms but are just a bit more pigmented.

I don't think kids should have "high end" products until the can save n buy it.. but that's just my personal opinion.
with that said, I think she's a bit young for color.
if you do decide to allow color, keep it natural n basic brands. nyc, wet n wild. maybe she can do a mac face for prom n buy her a colored lipglass to touch up.
but like you said, there is no rush. these kids are growing up wayyyyyy too fast..
Samantha, that pic is too cute!. my baby is almost two and I'm scared caysr when she catches me looking at makeup she's says "ooooohhhh cute". omg its n het DNA!.. I'm afraid.. ;-)

Tinted lip balm in pinks or light reds are good. Most red tinted ones don't come off as red but more of a blushy color! Burt's bees has great ones.

I too have a 7th grader she'll be 13 in December, and she too has asked for a brighter and MAC products, I think the reason is other 7th & 8th girls are being allowed. I'll let my daughter have lip balms, bright lip are a no cause her daddy says. :)

I think it is fine if your playin dress up at home but once they walk out the door it needs to come off I think little kids going to school with a makeup on is just not a good look , babylips an lipsmackers are fine for that age
