You really shouldn't mislead people and do some research!!
Seriously- there is no way to make your hair without change of genetics, this is SCIENCE... 100% factual.
Use of hair treatments simply make it stronger, and what you are seeing is NOT faster hair growth, you are seeing LESS BREAKAGE.
I do this treatment, yes, but I did my research before I fool myself and everyone into believing what isn't the truth.
This treatment will make your hair stronger, not thicker because once again unless you change genetics it's virtually impossible.
You can get the same result with any treatment out there if you guys don't feel comfortable with these ingredients or have them available... feel free to check out my topic on Top Beauty Myths as this is one that is discussed.

Kitty k. it actually works! I used it when I was growing my hair out

I did do reasearch and according to studies castor oil is use to healthy PROMOTE healthy hair growth, overcourse genetics do play a role but if you take care of your hair and deep condition it will the right oil and reduce your heat intake it will help you grow your hair out! Inorder to grow longer hair you must take care of it and keep it healthy inorder to promote faster hair growth vs. not taking care of your hair and it not growing as fast.
If you treat your hair good, it will do the same for you. I personally used myself as a guinne pig in this experiment to see if this does work and I have evidence. My hair grows on average 1/2 an inch a month and my hair has on average grew 1 1/2 inches. I neither mislead theses young ladies but showed them how I grew my hair. Yes I know everyones hair growa at different rates but this my results that I have found in my experiment

Yes, but what you fail to realize is that these are results of better hair quality, not faster hair growth. You cannot physically make your hair grow faster. Unless you took a # of people, measured their hair for over a year to see the amount of growth, and made sure they all ate the same and didn't do anything to jeopardize the experiment ( e.g. they all have the same hair type, all family members, etc. )and then conducted an experiment with each # of people to see the difference in hair growth.. then it's simply a beauty myth, because according to the scientists that have conducted such experiments, it's a big giant NO
You are one person, and I doubt you recorded your hair growth rate for years and doing different things to see what could make it vary, or you'd be all over news and making mad money.
I'm not trying to sound rude, I'm simply being realistic and prefer not to lie or give out misleading information.
Now, it's up to people whether they see it as better hair quality and not hair growth, or vise versa... but you should be factual about the information you posted, because you can get the same results by simply massaging your hair for ten minutes in the shower.
Yes, like you said.. you treat your hair better therefore it grows.
Which is basically, like I said to begin with. The results of less breakage, not faster growth.

When you did this experiment did you wash your hair like normal and then put the castor and coconut oil through your hair?
Thank you for sharing though! I will definitely try this :)

Kitty it doesn't hurt for people to try it. You can't say it doesn't work if you done try it. It's like a person saying they don't like carrots when they have never tried them in their whole life.
It's also not changing the genetics to make it grow faster. It's giving the nutrients to scalp and the roots of the hair which lets it grow fast. Hair can't grow faster unless it is giving the stuff it needs to do so. The body does this naturally but you can add stuff to help this.

What kitty is trying to say is that, your hair, going through heat & sulfate shampoos & all that makes your hair split & making it hard to grow. Since you're treating your hair & avoiding heat as much as you can, your hair is growing at its natural rate. If your hairs not healthy , it's not going to grow. Period. If you treat it well, then it's going to grow. That's why it seems like this is making your hair grow "faster" but I think coconut oil is amazing. She's not saying not to try it.
