It depends a lot on your hair texture and some other factors. Not everyone's hair curls the same way. Use high heat, Don't wrap your hair too tight, and make sure to use a bit of hairspray. Not too much though, or it'll end up looking like a bird's nest.

Hey Mackenzie! I actually just did a hair tutorial showing how to get simple curls. Maybe it will help! :) http://www.youtube.com/user/FabulouslyGirly?feature=mhee

Have you considered trying a curling wand? They're super easy to use and give you the most perfect waves and curls!

Curling wands are definitely the best. There's even a DIY tutorial on here somewhere about how to turn your old curling iron into a wand. I did it yesterday. Took like ten minutes-if that.

I love curling wands! You seriously can't screw it up when you use a curling wand. Just make sure you have a glove.

Always wrap around the barrel for those loose, pretty curls. If you clamp, you're gonna look like a porcelain doll going to prom.
I also love curling my hair with a straightening iron and find that it yields an amazing result! I switch the directions I'm curling (toward my face and away from my face) and it makes it look so natural. =]

Straightening irons are the way to go! I feel like my hair holds the curl a lot better without product when I use a flat iron, too.

It depends on which disney star hairstyle you want. But I would recommend a wand or a curling iron but don't use the clamp for the curling iron, just wrap your hair around the curling iron. Flat irons work too but I think the curling irons just work better for this kind of curl. If you want I can do a video tutorial for this. But that's what I recommend.
