Hello Aundrea, always keep an open mind when it comes to looks and styles know all the techniques and practice over and over again. The industry has grown so fast lately and the competition is high so you need to make yourself stand out from the rest and from your picture's you have posted I think you need to work on your finish touches on your eye shadow the lines are harsh and the foundation is flat the side swipe of blush or contour needs to be blended.I know this seems a little off putting but if you want to make it your job you need to be on point but that being said I can say your on your way to making it happen.Just keep up your talent and maybe get a job as an makeup artist assistant or apply at a makeup counter and on the side find an inspiring photographer who is willing to work for trade it benefits both of you they can take pics of your makeup work and help build both portfolios.Trust me it's an adventure but if you truly have lovefor makeup it's worth it.Good luck :D.

Just practice and build a portfolio you don't actually need a license to be a makeup artist unless you're trying to do hair as well. My friend is a makeup artist and does makeup for New York fashion week and she doesn't have a license she was a business major.
