That second picture is a girl who follows the Japanese subculture Ganguro. You should google it, they're so amazing! As for "everyone looks better with a tan" you should look at my 7th grade photos before I embraced my inner(outer?) pale. You would change your opinion quick smart. I am one girl who cannot pull off a tan. At all. Pale unity! Haha.

I love fake tan. I'm pretty tanned anyway so it doesn't look as obvious and turns out a lot more natural looking. Some people pull of the pale look so well, but I'm one for looking bronzed!

I'm a Malaysian Chinese, and I can tell you that Asians used all kinds of whitening stuff cuz we are obsessed with being pale! And of course me too, I wished I could be more pale/fair. :)

I'm pale skinned but I like to use a gradual tan or a light fake tan in the summer. But most of the time I go natural.
