A good shampoo and conditioner that I would recommend would be Tigi Bed Head Urban Antidotes Recovery. I used this when my hair was feeling dry and damaged from lightening it from black to a bronze-y color. It made it feel like I just got a trim, felt silky smooth and was very moisturizing! I also work at a salon and we carry it, its a great product. Also if you are thinking about hair, nail and skin vitamins, I would recommend the Wal-Mart brand. They are called Hair, Skin & Nails-Plus Biotin 1000mcg by Spring Valley. Biotin is found in the matrix of your hair, skin and nails, so the extra bit helps. And they are cheaper then gnc's brand, AND they have a ton more positive reviews! Another thing to do is while in the shower and you are shampooing and conditioning, give yourself a scalp massage EVERYTIME. This will help stimulate your scalp for hair growth. I hope this helps, I've been doing this since I had a bad haircut from a random stylist. She took my hair from past my shoulders to right above it. Now it is past my chest, my hair doesn't grow fast at all, but all of this has helped speed it up noticably! And my hair is at the longest its been since I was a child! Lol. Good Luck! :)

Oh, and I forgot..your small trims are a good idea as well!! Some people think the longer they go in between cuts makes their hair longer, but no. If you have split ends it will just continue to split up the shaft of your hair..so continue with the trims, that is another thing I do as well..I'm a little ocd on that one! Lol

You definitely should check out sulfate free shampoos and conditioners. I would also suggest deep conditioning at least once a week with a nice, thick moisturizing and/or protein conditioner. Alternate between the two. I'd also suggest trying some oil treatments too. Olive, castor, almond and coconut oils are really great oils to use.

Ive been a stylist for 3 years. Davines products are hands down the best products you can use. Taking Biotin will definitely help you get the long hair you want. If your one of those people that flat irons their hair, I would stay away from any shampoos or conditioners with artificial fragrances, they are loaded with sugars which build up on the hair, this causes carmelization of the product on your hair when you flat iron. You will have breakage for days. TIGI, Wella, Sebastian, JOICO, etc. ive tried them all! Nothing compares to Davines. Try it you wont regret it!

This is going to sound strange.. put mayonnaise in your hair once a week and put a cap on, and sleep on it. The protein in it will help your hair tremendously! Just wash it out with a light shampoo and let it dry on its own (:

The Joico KPak series and the Redken antisnap saved my hair when I over processed it! Also regular trims and heat protection!

aside from heat protection, not dying your hair so often, etc. i believe keeping fit (exercising regularly), drinking lots of water daily, no smoking, no alcohol, no drugs & staying away from stress help keep hair long/healthy.
