Looks nice from the bottom. But from the top you should do it from the back of your head, instead of the side.

You should look at this Youtube video "Easy fish braidtail braid for summer" by Carli Bybel it is an easy & pretty braid to do.

When moving down pull your hands apart I don't know if that makes sense but it will help tighten your braid. But it looks great :)
