For me, a granny nail polish shade is that, sheer, opaly color. Sort of white, but mostly sheer with that colored shimmer in it. It's fine if used as a topcoat over other colors, but I always see older women wearing just that on their nails. THAT is my ultimate old lady color. xD

If you like those colors, keep wearing them, and rock them! You won't look too granny...unless you are a granny! I personally love all the granny colors for nails, and clothes, and on and on. <3

I'm with Victoria. Now that she says it, I totally can see it. xD
But really? Who cares? If you like it, wear it. I just had green on my nails for a week. Who cared? NOT ME!

I personally think that they only look like "granny" colors if they're on a granny, haha. You can wear it at any age and your personal appearance just kind of meshes with the type of polish, if that makes sense.

Generally speaking, I don't care what others think of my nail color. I usually go from like, neon green, to sheer blue, to pink, purple, whatever! I just hate having naked nails!

My grandma was a farmer, so she never wore nail polish =P My roommate told me when I was wearing Zoya Richelle (light bronzey gold) that she thought it was a granny colour, but I don't really associate colours with grannies =P
