Is hair chalking unhealthy for hair? I want to do it for a summer get together kind of thing... But I dont want to damage my friends hair! If it's ok, does anyone have suggestions?

I have chalked my hair before and it stained my blonde highlights. It took a few washes to get out and probably took about 2 weeks to come out ONLY in my blonde highlights though.

when chalking, if you have brown hair then you should wet the hair so the color shows up. but if your a blonde do not wet the hair, unless you want the color to last longer. and I have never had problems when it came to highlights. and your hair will feel well chalky, but it does wash out easily. but don't forget to apply heat to the hair after, it jut doesn't turn out the same.
