Ok, well the first and most important thing is to remember that while makeup is great for self-expression, you also look beautiful without. There's no need to overdo it or wear a full face of makeup when you're just hanging out with your best friend on a lazy Saturday. Less is more.
Second, don't be afraid of eyelash curlers! Especially if you already have dark lashes, they make them show up more. If you're in a rush, just quickly curl them (takes approx. 5 seconds) and skip mascara. It also makes you look more awake!
Third, go easy on the eyeliner. Get something softer like a dark brown, or something colored that will bring out your eyes. I have blue eyes, and I use an eyeliner by Clinique in violet (I'm not sure, but it might be discontinued). My mom has green eyes and uses a khaki green. The color doesn't have to be the centerpiece if you just do a few light strokes. It looks great, but it keeps the focus on the eyes, not the liner. And don't worry too much about lining the bottom. For everyday makeup, there's no need. Try Clinique Quickliner.
Don't be afraid to use your (ring) finger to smudge on a little shadow, or not use mascara, or use your fingers to apply foundation. When you're young, tinted moisturizer is enough to even out your complexion and cover a bit without looking heavy and fake.
Practice makes perfect, but relax! You don't need a thousand tools and hours of time! Just go with it, you'll learn as you go and probably make a few mistakes along the way, but it isn't nearly as big of a deal as most people make it.
Good luck!

im assuming from what you said, you will be investing in mainly drugstore products for now. mascara is the most important part! it makes your eyes pop. maybellines lash stilleto volumtious (red tube) is amazing and you can find it anywhere and its only like 6$. maybelline also has the color tattoo eyeshadows that seriously last forever, all day and all night. nuetrogena has good powder foundations or if you want a liquid foundation, the revlon colorstay is awesome. some of the elf brushes work really well, and ive heard some good things about their eyeliners and bronzer/blush duos as well. all of their products are like 1 - 3 dollars and can be found at target. you have to play around and see what products you like and what you would like to include in your routine. like ashley said, youtube is a great way of learning and figuring things out :) goodluck!

The one rule I have with makeup when you're just starting out is: less is more.
When I was your age, I caked it all on and that was a horrible idea! I blame figure skating competitions for that... but don't because you don't need it! Your skin has no wrinkles and you just don't need all that mess on top of it. I'd say you're fine with a little foundation or powder, fun eyeshadow, mascara, some blush and maybe a gloss.
Do not be afraid of drugstore products. Some of them are great. I love Covergirl's Lashblast Volume Mascara, and Milani products are really great quality. If you're looking for cheap, yet pigmented eyeshadows, try Wet n' Wild. AMAZING color payoff for super cheap. ELF brushes are $1-$3 so you can't go wrong there either. The only thing I'd splurge on at this point if I were you is a good foundation, but that's just my opinion. Also, invest in an eyelash curler. It doesn't have to be fancy. You will be glad you did. =] I feel like a lot of people are asking this question lately so I think I'm gonna do a makeup starter kit for beginners video on my channel. Check it out if you'd like. Good luck with everything! You're going to love makeup. It's so much fun. =]

Go easy on face makeup. I started wearing makeup when I was about 13/14. I'm 16 now and I reckon my skin would be so much better if I didn't wear a full face nearly every day. You probably only need a BB cream, tinted moisturiser or powder. It's totally fine to wear a full face if you're going out or it's an occasion, but you certainly don't need it every day. Less is more at your age, the less you do now, the more beautiful your skin will be in later years when all your friends need tons of cover up :P
By all means express yourself and wear whatever makes you feel comfortable - just go easy because you're so young :)

My tips to you are
- before you leave the house ask your mum if you look okay just to be sure you don't look like a crazy person with makeup all over your face! Chances are she's right !.. There are some cases though where some mums just despite there daughters wearing makeup at all ! If that's your mum then maybe skip this tip!
-black eyeliner is too harsh for your water line ! If you like the look of eyeliner on your waterline go for brown !
-go for shimmer or light eyeshades ! Nothing to drastic yet ! Maybelline, NYX, Wet n wild ect have affordable eye shadows !
-HAVE FUN WITH IT ! Makeup shouldnt be a drag! It should be fun ! Have fun with it!

Here's what i did when i started wearing makeup:
1. I never really wore foundation just a mineral powder will do, especially since you are so young. it evens out your skin tone but doesnt make yu look like youre wearing too much makeup.
2. i would skip the eyeliner. just coat your lashes with a small amount of mascara (you dont want spider lashes) or just use some clear gel mascara.
3. blush - use a light peachy color. it will make you look fresh and awake
4. lips - lip gloss or a pink lip stain would go great. it adds a small pop of color to a fresh awaken face.

I started using makeup about 2-3 years ago and here's my advice to you:
-When it comes to makeup, the most important part is skincare. If you don't take care of your skin (or the "base" of your makeup), your skin will start to look bad. You can pile on the makeup but with bad skin, it will not good. So get a skincare plan together and do it daily.
-Along that note, always wash your makeup off before you go to sleep!!!
-It's easy to get caught up in trends and what others consider popular or "holy grail" products, but they may not work for you. What works on other skin tones and skin types may not work for you. And that's okay. You can always find something that has a similar effect, but is more flattering on your skin. I've wasted a lot of money in the past trying to get things to work on me that just weren't going to.
-Before you buy something, look into the reviews. I absolutely love Temptalia for this. She has the best reviews and swatches!
-Like everyone said, YouTube! That's how I've learned most of what I know now.
-And..practice. Try different techniques for doing things.
Have fun! :)

At 14, i would recommend you try out Wet n' Wild, NYC, Elf and Rimmel. Don't wear foundation yet, at least hold off until your 18 or so if you need it, otherwise it may ruin your skin. Always check with your Mom first to what she prefers you wearing.
