Changing hair colour, blonde to ???

Hi,
I am considering a full colour change from blonde to unknown colour! Has anyone dyed their blonde hair to another colour, what was it and how did it go? I'm not looking to go very dark as I don't think you can ever get back to light without ruining my hair but I am keen to hear any suggestions you may have.

(I have blue / grey eyes, medium completion and am naturally dark blonde with highlights)
