You can do either or liquid or powder. Just be sure that if you decide to go with a liquid its oil free and it has a matte-finish. Estee lauder has a liquid foundation that caters to those benefits its called double-wear. Clinique also has a liquid foundation, stay-matte.. :)

I have oily skin. Revlon colorstay is ok. It's a full-coverage, and sometimes may look too cakey.
I love love Revlon whipped 24hr foundation. It's awesome on my oily skin. 1) medium coverage 2) matte finish 3) great for oily skin

I have oily skin as well and I agree with Monica...the revlon whipped foundation has been the best for my skin so far. It lasts all day, has pretty good coverage and looks really good and natural on the skin.

If you choose an liquid foundation for oily skin, always set it with a powder.

Covergirl Clean Liquid they have an oil control formula that is amazing. It has a matte finish and it really does keep the shine away.

So I am super oily and finally found a way to control my oily face! First of all I use witch hazel as a toner every day love it. Def helps control my shinyness also sephora gave me a sample of Murad oil control mattifier moisturizer and its amaaaaaazing. Also I know that a lot of people don't like the cover girl outlast 3 in 1 foundation but it really really leaves my skin nice I don't get shiny with it for hours... I get at least 5 or 6 hours of use until any oil starts showing up which I just blot away on my tzone. Finally I don't have to be constantly checking the mirrors every hour to blot out oil:-)

I have extremely oily skin and Revlon Colorstay is great but their color selection no so great. Check out my blog post on this topic and also I actually use a BB cream from Asia, it does wonders for your skin.
