I wouldn't have a hoop to start with as its harder to clean. When the gunk comes out your just putting it back in as your turning the hoop around after if heals I think you should put a hoop in (: x

I agree with the other girls. Start with a stud. I wanted a hoop at first, but they told me it'd have to be pierced lower if I wanted to start off with the ring.

When they pierce it, they usually don't start you off with a hoop because it's harder to clean & the original jewelry is a bigger size than a normal stud. When I got mine done, I kept the original jewelry in for a few months until it completely healed then switched to a smaller stud. Time to time I switch to a hoop. I have a hoop in mine right now.
