I had the same problem or 10 years... I used to get fake nails but they were costly and hurt when I took them off. Honestly you just have to really want to stop. I was fed up with having horrific finger nails and I was soo embarrassed when people looked at my nails. Get shellac or pay for a very expensive manicure and maybe it will prevent you from biting 🙊

There is a polish you can paint on your nails that when you bite, leaves a bad taste in your mouth. You could also keep a rubber band or a coin or silly putty on you to play with when you have the urge to bite your nails. You could also keep a pack of gum to keep your mouth busy. You can also paint your nails, you wouldn't want to ruin your manicure, would you?

I use stop the bite nail polish and it tastes absolutely horrible but you it only works if you remember to apply it every 2 days or so, or daily if its a super bad habit.

I was biting my nails from the age of 3 until recently (I'm 18) I bought a bitter tasting nail polish, it was in the baby section of Walgreens (it's also supposed to deter thumb sucking) it taste very bitter and as soon as I put my nail in my mouth, I moved it away once I tasted it. I only used it for a few days though, then I just painted my nails. I liked how it looked and it made me not want to bite them, and now my nails are getting longer, they're actually past my fingertips! You have to really want to stop; just think about how nice they'll look when they're long.
