When I apply foundation on my nose it smears around and won't stay, it ends up looking patchy and ashy. I apply primer and moisturizer and still get these results.

I have this problem too ugh! This is especially troublesome when I'm around my boyfriend all the kisses make the foundation rub right off regardless of anything and everything I've tried. This is even a problem when I use a long wear foundation and powder over it :/ someone help us!!

Are you using a powder and/or setting spray?

I don't usually use a powder but I do use a setting spray

@ximena: try applying in layers. It sheers it out so that it has less to move around. Remember, foundation only evens out, not cover. Use a concealer to cover problematic areas. I used to have the same problem and after I started applying in more sheer layers, my makeup would slip and slide less as I am applying.

@jenna: switch to a mineral foundation. They tend to transfer less. Just use a concealer to cover problematic areas and apply in sheer layers. Never do more than two layers and it shouldn't move around as much.

You should try using the beauty blender. I used to have the same problem and after using it, it gave me the perfect airbrushed finish with perfect coverage and a very nice glow. I could have never achieved that look with a brush so I highly recommend it!

Would it work the same as a application sponge?

Use a setting spray.
