I have some advice for you, I hope you find it somehow helpful. If you're breaking out or if you have acne, I recommend you invest on a good concealer rather than investing on a good foundation. The reason why I say this, is because you want to get great coverage on the problem areas, not on the healthy areas. Generally, people with acne tend to have great skin around it. So I could recommend you apply a light foundation such as L'Oreal True Match evenly on all of your face and then go over the problem areas with a full coverage concealer (Mac cream concealers work great). That way you'll get a more natural finish and you'll get to show off your wonderful skin!

I agree with Karen. But I would also recommend investing on a concealer that is good for acne and scarring. I personally love the cover fx line just because it is made by a dermatologist and is almost an organic line that has great coverage. I like to just use concealer on the problem areas and then even everything out with the mineral foundation. Their liquid foundation helps with scarring and their cream pot contains SPF so it doesn't allow any darkening of the scars.

I agree with Karen, I use a heavy duty concealer for my acne scarring and a light coverage foundation so my makeup won't look as heavy. :)

Kat Von D's foundation is great. I have acne, scarring, hyper pigmentation, and when I'm done with my makeup, people can't tell that I have those skin problems. Even though its a full coverage foundation, I've never had any problems with breakouts due to the foundation. Try a sample from sephora, see if you like it :) I only need one pump for my whole face, and if I need extra on some spots, I use just a tiny bit to go over those spots
