My nail polish, no matter what brand or type will not dry properly. Any tips or advise to get it to stay on?

Use a dry-fast top coat.

Do thinner coats and use a quick dry spray or top coat. Not a big fan of quick dry top coats, they tend to get bubbly, I prefer the cold water method. Sick your finger tips in ice water once your polish is no longer tacky.

Make sure you wait until every single coat completely dries solidly before you put another coat on. then a dry fast top coat

I've tried it. And the fast drying sprays but it doesn't dry at all. Could it be something with my nails themselves?

Have you tried seche vite top coat. it is my swear by product. it dries quickly and stays super shiny. use a good base, 2 coats of polish, not thick, and this top coat.

I have actually heard that spraying on Pam cooking oil on nails after painting makes them dry faster. I've tried it and it actually works!

No I've never tried the pam or that top coat. I will have to try them and see if they work.

I know it sounds weird, but you just spray Your nails when you're done and then rince them under cold water and wipe off any excess oil.

I'd recommend a fast drying too coat. I just recently purchased the Essie good to go topcoat and I'm in LOVE! My nails were dry right away. I read reviews about Seche Vite and the questionable ingredients so I went with Essie. It's super shiny and doesn't bubble :)

PS buy it on amazon! It's super cheap, I got mine for about $5.

I've heard that pam works for a lot of people. Does it have to be the name brand kind?
May 5, 2013

Do you have to use name brand pam?

Stephanie R.
No you can use any brand, much cheaper than fast drying sprays ;)

Pam cooking oil spray locks it in perfect for me.. Just wash it off after a few minutes.

Do a base coat, its like a primer, helps it last longer then seal with a fast drying top coat.

Seche Vite cannot be used on pregnant women. Now that's saying something, chemicals much??

I think you need to weigh out the pros and cons with seche vite. the ingredient toluene is in many polishes as well. because of a CA state law is why its listed. there is a really good blog about it ill paste here. It is my fav by far, there are other good ones out there like cnd's super shiney. hope this helps :)

I agree with you. Toluene is not considered a such dangerous substance in a lot of countries.

After applying polish I use sally hansen diamond flash top coat wait two minutes then use salon manicure dry and go drops. works great.

It sounds to me like you need to work on technique, not buy new products if you've already tried quick drying products.

Try Essie' Ready To Go. I use my blow dryer for a few minutes to dry my polish then I put that on as my top coat...dry for a couple. more minutes with blow dryer and they are completely dry.
