I'm thinking of starting a makeup channel and I have no idea what kind of camera works best for this. I do a lot of theatrical makeup and some beauty and drag makeup. Anyone have suggestions?

I honestly use my iPhone, for the moment, as it records in 1080p and there are a bunch of low cost accessories for it as far as tripods and lighting goes. But I'm saving up to update my DSLR in the mean time...Now, if you're looking for more high end the Canon T3i and T4i are amazing for video. But then comes getting the lenses and everything and those aren't exactly cheap. The Sony Handycam CX260V and Canon Vixia HF200 are good camcorder only options.

It's the 4s, but I believe the iphone can film 1080p on the 4 as well and most definitely the 5. You can only record that high from the back camera though, not the front camera. But when I record from my phone if I want to upload in 1080p or even 720p I need to make sure I have plenty of space on my phone (as I save to my camera roll then put on my computer) as those two settings take up A LOT of space. Like, I have to take the music off my phone first and then save. I uploaded in 1080p for this video but the lighting (was relying on outside light) was really bad as it was like 6:30 in the evening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kjn6Jj5eDEo. But honestly if you have good light even lower video settings aren't going to matter as you're well illuminated.

I use my Canon 3ti it's very high quality and picks up colour well, and I know a lot of other beauty bloggers who use this camera or similar ones. However it is pretty expensive but you can get a good deal for it if you look hard enough. If you're really interested in perusing this then I suggest investing in a good quality camera like the canon t31 or t4i which is the newer version. If you're serious it is better to invest in a good camera rather than upgrading more and more. I hope that helps!!
