It is kinda hard to do...I think you shall first practise on doing it bigger,and as more often as you do them,you can make more complicated and smaller designs...

You can also so a simple reverse style one - Pammie you're coloured base, then a thick diagonal white tip, with a dotting tool make diopters along the edge of the white to make it scalloped, then using a dotting tool and you're base colour make slightly smaller dots inside the scallops. This will make it look like you have a thin curved line of lace.
