I'm really trying to figure out ways to enhance my look. As far as lipstick or different chic / classy hair styles. What should I do?

A deep plum or light nude lip would be pretty. Also, have you considered filling in your eyebrows? Big bold brows make a huge statement. Maybe not as big as these, but it really defines your face.

Also, try pulling your hair into a high ballerina bun. Messy braids are pretty too.

My friend did this braid on me, just search up a tutorial on you tube it's called a waterfall braid.

Hair: try curls
makeup: enhance your lips and wing the corners of your eyes and line eyes
outfits : based on your skin tone use bold colors and stylish prints. African American woman usually have great arms and legs so.try slimming clothes and show a little skin but not to much.
