Been using olive oil for a week and it shines and my wavy hair isn't as frizzy. olive oil will forever be in my home.

Do you sleep with it in or just let it sit on your hair a little before shampooing? I've been wanting to try it for a while but not overnight. Any tips?

I slept with it in my hair the first night just to give it a kick start and I washed it out the next morning. now I just rub like a tablespoon into my hair, like 3 inches from my scalp a half hour before I get into the shower. but I wash my hair every other day so that helps too. and I use ganier fructisse triple moisture. make sure everything is rinsed out and it works like a charm!

So with shampoo you find the olive oil comes out?

I'm going to yo try that before I wash my hair next! I usually wash every third day, with pantene or dove. No matter what I use though, I find the conditioner takes forever to feel truly rinsed out. So annoying! Just don't want that to happen with the olive oil.

You wash your hair every 3 days and you need olive oil?! oh god you are going to have crazy soft hair! and it takes patience when you're rinsing it out but its worth it. and if you feel that its not all the way out just use a dime sized amount of dawn dish soap. but I keep a little bit in my hair, not much but enough to keep that layer of shine without the greasy feel. and yes ALWAYS on dry hair!!

My hair has been better in the last few years but I have natural thick, curly hair and it used to be sooo frizzy and coarse and dull (never ever shiny). If I wear it straight (heat damage, though) then I can get 3 days between washing. For wavy/, curly almost every other day I have to wash it.
The last few years it's actually been somewhat soft (never in my life have I had hair I wanted to touch!), but at the same time I only started using a straightener about five years ago, so now I have heat damage to worry about.
Thank you so much for the tips! I'm excited to try it!
