Are you wanting to go darker or lighter? Its impossible to go lighter without damage but don't dye every week and do hair treatments (like hot oil) and you should be ok. I used manic panic on my daughters hair so she didn't have to stay with one color.

Blonde is extremely unhealthy for your hair. Try using a semi permanent dye instead. It only lasts about a month but then you can always switch it up with ease.

I can't tell, but it looks like your hair I pretty dark. Just remember you can't use a light color without bleaching first, and a semi permanent on your hair now will be like a glaze of color.

If you're looking for a bright colors Manic Panic is the way to go. It will still add pigment to dark/unbleached hair it just won't be as bright. The dye itself is plant/vegetable based and is not damaging to your hair. However bleach is the only way (that I'm aware of) to achieve the true brightness.

Kool aid works really good but it can last up to 3-4 months its not really bad for your hair but if you google how to die your hair with kool aid you can get instructions.
