Dye your hair the brightest permanent red you can get. Then put a semi permanent over it after you wash it out. Use like manic panic, they have a bunch of reds. Or special effects usually holds better. It will run though so no white sheets or towels!

I'd get it at a salon. matrix and chi red lasts a long time. but you should also make sure you are using professional products for color treated hair. if I'm not mistaken redkin even makes one especially for red.

Amber, even if she got splat she wouldn't have to use the bleach.. she could just use the color. but I don't advice using splat if you want it to last because splat is semi permanent.. she could use it to brighten up her red tho.

There's a brand called directions, you may have already used them but they have some gorgeous red shades (I just mix loadsa different ones on mine haha) and they're really cheap. they have no ammonia or peroxide so you can mix together the colour and also you can mix some dye into your conditioner to boost your colour when you wash it =]
if I were trying to get the colour in the pic I'd use Loreal ferria colour permanent, the brightest/deepest red. Then I'd mix the semi permanent dyes, poppy red and tulip, more red though and also mix some of the semi into my conditioner =]

I have had red hair for a year and I've only salon dyed it once. I've been keeping it up with Joico Color Intensity. It's only 10$ for a tube, and the tube lasts me a month or more. (that's with thick hair)

I use the new matrix that's out it doesn't have ammonia and very low peroxide. Fiat red that is lasting nicely.

My daughter wanted fire engine red tips for Christmas. So after bleaching, I used manic panic. To help it stay red a little longer, I would put a shower cap on her dyed ends. Then after her shower, she would wash the ends seperate using cool-cold water. Warmer the water...the easier for color to wash out.
