I have the same hair. I use a bunch of bobby pins and just grab chunks, spin then into a messy ball and pin. Do this all over your head. When finished, throw some flower or cool clips in and it looks like a rad, punky up do! I do this all the time and get so many compliments. It never looks the same twice! I find, the messier the better! Good luck!

Works well right when you get out of the shower. Wet hair, then when you take it down, you've got rad curls!

Thank you! I will try that!! I'm so upset. My hair won't grow (especially on my left/opposite bang side? and it's a terrible length. Almost looks like a mullet :( I'm about to shave the left side and wear the rest of it on my right
