Its hard to explain but I would look at some photos and watch some videos and find inspiration for your makeu storage, but really make it so it suits your needs =)

I have little boxes that hang on the wall and I put my nail polish in them than I have a pyramid thing that I made and I stick like little samples in those jars and than I have a little jar for my everyday makeup than plastic boxes for my other stuff.

I got the organizer drawers from Walmart. I put eyeshadows & lashes in one, lipsticks n lipliners in one, mascara and eyeliners in one, & primers, foundations, powders, blush, and concealers in another.
