I'm wanting to buy African Black Soap, I've watched a lot of videos and read loads of reviews and am willing to try it. I noticed a lot of people use unrefined Shea butter and coconut oil, what exactly are they used for? Some people also use grapeseed oil and jojoba oil. I hope some of you can help me out!

I use all of them. I mix my shea butter with grapeseed oil, coconut oil, and sesame sees oil.

Shea butter has proven successful in the treatment of various skin ailments including eczema and psoriasis and in some cases rosacia
Shea butter helps to restore elasticity to the skin
Shea butter helps to heal cuts and burns without scarring
Shea butter helps to minimize stretch marks
Shea butter has natural sun protection qualities for your skin and hair (though it should not be used in place of sunscreen)
Shea butter works wonderfully on razor bumps and rashes
It's an intensive general moisturizer, ideal for dry, cracking skin. Especially good for those extra dry spots: elbows, heels, knees and cuticle beds.

Studies suggest that Grape Seed Oil and its Extract constitute anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-histamine, anti-aging, anti-allergic, antimicrobial, and adaptogenic activity. Therefore, it has been beneficial in the treatment of a number of health issues which include: arthritis, edema, dermatitis, acne, wrinkles, dry and itchy skin, age spots, sun burns, chapped lips, wounds, bruising, stretch marks, varicose veins, hemorrhoids, chronic venous insufficiency, premature aging, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), weight loss, stress, dandruff, hair loss, warts, cardiovascular diseases especially atherosclerosis, hypertension, high cholesterol levels, diabetes, visual impairment, cataract, and macular degeneration. Studies also suggest that its free radical scavenging activity may strengthen the immune system and reduce the risk of developing cancer.

Do you just apply the mixed solution on like lotion after you've washed your face with the African Black Soap?

You're welcome! And a little goes a loooooonnnggg way for all of them, trust me! I get my oils from coastal scents.com but you should be able to find some of them in trader joes or on amazon.

And yep. Or just as a substitute for lotion on its own. The black soap will try out your face and tingle for the first few times so you HAVE to use a moisturizer. But I put it all over my body and in my hair honestly.

@Erin M. Is the African black soap appropriate for acne prone skin?

Black soap is awesome for acne prone skin! That's the entire reason I bought it. I use it to keep my skin smooth but my boyfriend is a turns into a fair skinned Italian during the winter (he get's olive in the summer) and his acne is baaaddd because he doesn't like to put anything on his face and he works out a TON. I bought it originally for him to try after reading some reviews on amazon and within a week it started clearing up his face. I noticed that when I use it it helps the breakouts that I already has and keeps my skin smooth. This is the one I get, read the reviews to get a better feel of it:
