I've tried using setting powders the same color as my skin tone but after it sets it changes the color of my foundation either a red tint or make it look ashy. I've tried translucent powder but it makes my makeup look cakey. any suggestions?

For the most part setting powders are made for all skin colors because they are usually translucent. Setting powders should be bought by the type of skin you have (oily, dry, acne prone). I use Nars setting powder and it has that dreaded white cast over your face but I let it soak into my face and after about an hour and a half the white cast is gone so never use setting powder right before you take pictures with flash. Also you may want to try setting sprays. Urban Decay makes awesome ones but you should research to see what's best for your skin type. Good Luck!

Try L'Oreal TrueMatch. They have a lot of powders in different shades. If you do try a white HD powder, be careful because using too much will leave you with the white ashy look in photography.

I have the ruby kisses set n forget powder in Earth. but I only use it to set my concealer as a highlight because it's a few shades lighter then my skintone.
