I live in texas.I see people do it here ALL the time.I don't think its a bad idea at all..espically since the sun is sooo hot here.I have very fair skin and I can be outside for like 20 minutes and il be red.

Lol I live in California and I do that in the summer or when it's just to hot to avoid getting sun burned and also use 50SPF...I figure all my neighbors understand that it's flipping hot lol

I use my umbrella all the time! Lol! Even when I walk from the car to inside on an open air parking lot. My dermatologist is really advocating to avoid as much sun exposure as much as possible. I live in a tropical country so I carry and use my umbrella all the time. :)

Try to find an umbrella that looks good in the sun- bright colors, ruffles, not plastic..
