I was wondering whether I should buy nail polish remover that is non acetone or acetone? I heard acetone is really harsh and bad for the nails but non acetone nail polish remover leaves a white chalky residue on my nails after I use it? Any suggestions?

Non acetone of meant for removing polish the pure acetone is so harsh and stronger because that I meant to take the acrylics off unless you have acrylics then use acetone if its just polish use non acetone

I usually use acetone it removes faster but usually right after I use cuticle oil so it doesn't dry my cuticles and the " chalky effect " does not dry them out :)

Non acetone to remove polish. acetone dries out nails and makes them more prone to splitting and breaking. the only time I use acetone is for cleaning up a mani once I'm finished.

Oh and just scrub your nails after using the non acetone. I like cutex non acetone, its pink. it doesn't leave a chalky residue, but it tends to be a bit greasy, which I like because its moisturizing. so scrubbing my nails with.soup and water removes that and dead skin cells or other debris and gets them perfect for polish :)

Acetone works the best. I get so frustrated with non acetone.

Lol obviously I meant soap haha damn autocorrect! it can turn polish into hamburger but not soup into soap, wtf? haha :p.

I prefer acetone because it removes polish (and glitters) quickly and does a significantly better job at getting rid of natural oils on my nails. In turn, making your mani and pedi last longer.

I use acetone and I paint my nails 2x a week and mine are never dry or brittle from it, just make sure its doesn't say pure acetone that kind is for removing acrylics.

Acetone works better for me. I immediately wash my hands and apply apricot oil. Been doing that for years and my nails grow like weeds.

I only use 100% acetone because its faster and I keep my nails painted at all times. If you aren't going to keep them painted 99% of the time then I would use remover with some acetone but not all. My actual nails are terrible but you can't tell because I always have color on them.

Non acetone is better but if you like acetone is good to add 1/3 of liquid glycerin on it. It makes less damage and your cuticles won't get dry.
