I never use to have greasy hair and just within the past month my hair has started to get really greasy. I wash it every other day like I have for years and I have never had this problem, but after one night of sleeping on it my hair gets greasy. Can anyone explain this to me and suggest what to do about it.

I know this is weird but have you changed you pillowcase lately? Oils can build up and make your hair and face get dirty quicker.

Wash pillowcases only use conditioner and hair products on the bottom half of hair otherwise use baby powder/sry shampoo it will soak up the oilyness so your not washing your hair everyday because its so oily!

It could be a lot of things, environmental changes, hormone changes, even color changes can affect your scalps oil level. either wash your hair more often (which is perfectly fine to do), or invest in dry shampoo.
my hair is pretty oily naturally so I dye it every month or so even its its just a small hue change, that 'damage' from the coloring make my hair behave better for me.
also make sure youre conditioning your hair correctly, most people will put conditioner on their roots and thats really unnecessary and leads to greasy hair after one day.

I condition my hair from root to tip every time I shower and it has not made my hair greasier. In fact, since I have started doing conditioning and massaging my scalp it takes longer for my hair to get greasy. Your scalp could be dry and trying to overcompensate with oils.
