EXTREMELY uneven tan! Help!

This may sound like a stupid question, but how can I acheive a more even tan? My knees always end up REALLY dark and my thighs tan really evenly but my shins DO NOT. That are always patchy and look wierd with the rest of my legs because they are still white and the rest of my body looks Mexican (NOT MEANT TO BE RACIST) seriously. Are there any products I could use to help?

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. And only use a small amount on those dry areas (knees, elbows, ankles)

Exfoliate or go to a tanning salon.

It just depends how the sun hits your legs. Naturally you knees will be darker a little because they are more profound and protruding.
