I've had shellac nails done at salons has anyone ever done them there self? Does it work ok? Or does it just work out better to go to the salon as the polishes are quite expensive?

It's a gel polish that you use with a light non chipping polish makes mani or pedi last longer.

I use Red Carpet Manicure which is basically the same sort of thing as Shellac. Really good and it doesn't chip.

Shellac is made by Creative, they just came out with vinylux, it's a 7 day wear polish, no light. Its cheaper and can be done rather easily. Maybe it may be worth looking into. I've used it several times and have had good resulta.
