Does dying your hair with food-colouring actually work?

I've heard Kool-Aid works for some people. But I've never heard of food coloring.

Yes it does but it only comes out in really light hair. my sister used to die her hair with red kool aid and food coloring and she had light brown hair and it showed up a lot.. but only stayed on for a couple days then started fading

I did mine green and I have dark brown almost black hair and it showed up in the sun but it damaged my hair and still isn't completely out after months.

Kook aid never worked for me. I uses white vinegar and food coloring boiled together. It worked great! But very permanent. It lasted about 1 year and in some light I can still sorta see it
