Make sure the primer is thick enough to fill lines and pores. I recommend the Bare Minerals Oil-Control primer.

Their mineral makeup is very good to for any skin type. They have matte, original, and a ready compact version.

I too have large pores. Exfoliate twice a week. I use a ice cube after I wash my face to close my pores. I use Neturagena pore moisturizer mixed with my Too Faced primer and foundation. I use MUFE foundation and apply it with my Kabuki brush. I find that using a brush helps the appearance of my pores. I don't use mineral powder as I find it making my pores bigger. Instead I use translucent powder to finish my look. This may help as this is how I go about my everyday foundation. Good luck gorgeous!
