I'm one of those people who believes that some rules are meant to be broken when it comes to style :) I wanted to know what rules you believe are overrated:
1- You can't wear black with navy
2- no mixing metallic accessories (gold & silver)
3- Your shoes and belt must match

The rule with denim on denim is too never match the washes. Also mixing metal is like the new in thing.
