Crazy Hair!! Help!!

So I have medium length very thick hair. I also have ALOT of hair. It's kinda wavy but its so heavy that it doesn't really do anything except be frizzy. It takes about 1 hour to straighten it pretty good and I don't even attempt curling it because I have so much. What are some good products that can enhance the waves that aren't expensive? Thanks!!

Herbal Essences scrunching gel. I love it! I always braid my hair at night when it's damp, and put the gel in when its dry the next morning. It really enhances the curls and I love it! It holds them, but keeps them soft. Because its a gel, you can also use it to smooth frizz. I got mine for I think $6 or $7 at drug store :)

I have the instant freeze one and I like it! But it dosent really work on my hair for scrunching but I love the braiding idea thanks!!
