Layers will make it feel thinner. I do not suggest thinning your hair.

You could get layers, short or long, your preference. It'll help balance the thickness of your hair, and isn't a super dramatic change

I would get it thinned, layered, and ask them to trim your dead ends off. And get side bangs.

I have super thick hair, and get it thinned, and it makes a big difference.
