For mascara definitely maybelline. for eyeshadows wet n wild and loreal (: I don't think there is a competition its just different formulas and you get what you pay for.. sometimes.

These days my absolute favorites are:
Physicians Formula, Nude shimmer shadow strips. so many colors, soft finish, great shades that look fab. not just "nude" but grey and purplish shades too! love it!
Rimmel, VolumeFlash ScandalEyes Mascara. waterproof (orange tube) mascara that can't be touched in my book! ZERO clumps and you can layer it up. so affordable! big, lush brush!
Covergirl Blast Flipstick lipstick in Vixen. a baby pink and deeper rose shade. two colors in one tube! soft finish, doesn't dry lips out.
Maybelline Baby Lips lip gloss in Cherry Me. sheer red color payoff, perfect alone or over darker lipsticks for a bright sheen.
