It would look good, but my sister did that once and ever since then her hair has grown out grayish so it depends on whether you want to have to dye it religiously for the rest of your life! Black is a huge commitment.

I think you should try ash brown instead. But if you're going jet black be sure to use blue-black hair dye. Since black hair reflects silver in sunlight blue black hair will reflect as dark blue - which is the closest dark colour to black. That's going to ensure the blackest hair ever. I recommend Bigen #8&.
