I have been waxing my upper lip for over 2 years and I have never had this problem happen often! The last two times I waxed I got a bad burn! I used baby powder, it hurts at the moment and I'm taking the day off. I need to know what I am doing wrong because I have never experienced this before and it hurts. I need to know how to prevent this because I have no idea what I am doing wrong!

Don't use any kind of cream or oil on it. Using creams to treat any burns is dangerous and prevents it from healing. The only thing you can really do is wash the area with cool water. Are you using one of those things that heat up the wax? Don't know the name lol if so its possible the thermostate? has broken and is heating the wax to the incorrect tempreture, but I don't really know. I think you should replace it to be safe if you are not doing anything different to usual. Sorry if this is jumbled on my phone amd can't proof read.

@Toribeth T. I am using the wax strips that you put between your hands to heat up. I have never had issues with burns until now! I have dry flakey skin, do you think that could be the problem?

Oh thats strange never heard of that happening with those before thats wierd. I wouldnt have thought your skin type would effect how they work though. Maybe you should get a new pack the last lot may have been faulty or something. If you want to try something else hair removal cream works really just don't leave it on to long. Sorry I can't really help never heard of this happening before.

If you've been using tge same brand for a while you could have formed a reaction to it. I would leave using anything on the area for a while and then switch brands if wax or maybe use a different method of hair removal. for now I would just apply aloe vera gel.
