The best thing you can do its get an actual aloe vera plant and use the real aloe vera. the gel has alcohol in it which draws moisture out of your skin. it works wonders heals 10x faster than gel anyway. feel better!!

Hand sanitizer is not a good idea it will dry out the skin and cause more peeling you need aloe.

I always use aloe vera gel and keep it in the fridge so it cools me down every time I apply it.

Ugh I just got a sunburn today too :/ aloe Vera is the absolute best (especially when you get it directly from the plant). I didn't have any so I put some coconut oil on it just so that it stays hydrated. It's working well so far so is give it a shot.

I'm not saying to bath in hand sanitizer everyday, lol. It does have alcohol in it, but it also has moisturizers since its for your hands. I don't really burn so I don't know from personal experience, but a lady at work got a horrible bright red sunburn and came back the next day and it was tan. She said it was hand sanitizer.

I'm a cosmetologist and hand sanitizer is not meant for sun burns, if it helped her it might have been bc of the aloe vera that many companies are now adding to their formulas. aloe vera is your best friend right now. whole milk is also a skin soother and will make it feel better but in my opinion aloe vera is the better of the two.

Currently a nursing student and definitely aloe vera. You can find the organic alcohol free kind at nature product stores or high end beauty stores. If you go directly from the plant, you will need to use a lot. Equate has an aloe that has lidocaine in it to help numb the skin and stop pain. Make sure you stay overly hydrated. Drink till you pee buckets and then drink more.
